CONTINUING A FRIEND'S LEGACY

In November 2007, a former FC Dallas employee and friend, Peter Burks was killed by a roadside bomb while on duty in Baghdad, Iraq. Two weeks before his death, he had emailed the FC Dallas front office asking for help with a campaign to provide soccer balls to children in Iraq. In honor of Burks, the FC Dallas Foundation will again send items to Iraq next month through the Peter Burks Unsung Hero Fund. FC Dallas will host a soccer ball / supplies collection at the Sunday, March 29 game vs. Chivas USA (2 p.m. CT at Pizza Hut Park) at the FC Dallas Foundation table located on the North Concourse. In addition, the Foundation will collect soccer balls and supplies at the FCD office (9200 World Cup Way, Ste 202, Frisco, TX 75034) through Friday, April 3 to help in this effort and to continue to fulfill Peter Burks' wishes.

Requested items for the children: soccer balls and school supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, construction paper. NO scissors, mechanical pencils or other sharp objects). Requested items for the soldiers: (games, books, music, calling cards, snacks, athletic socks, etc).
