FC Dallas News Release

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, March 7, 2014) - FC Dallas and forward Eric Hassli have mutually agreed to terminate his contract. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed.

Hassli made 15 appearances for FC Dallas in 2013, including four starts, before a back injury landed the big striker on the disabled list for much of the season. The injury resurfaced during the 2014 preseason, continuing to sideline the Frenchman.

FC Dallas acquired Hassli in a trade with Toronto FC on Feb. 4, 2013. The target forward scored three goals and notched two assists in eight appearances with Toronto. He joined MLS in 2011 as part of the inaugural Vancouver Whitecaps FC side, earning MLS All-Star honors in his first season as a Designated Player for the Whitecaps. Prior to joining Major League Soccer, Hassli enjoyed successful stints in Switzerland, France and England.

Since embarking on his professional career with FC Metz (France) during the 2000 season, Hassli has also appeared for: Southampton FC (England), Valenciennes FC (France), Neuchâtel Xamax (Switzerland), Servett e FC (Switzerland) and FC St. Gallen (Switzerland).
