FC Cincinnati Loan Defender Forrest Lasso to Nashville SC
July 25, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati have loaned defender Forrest Lasso to Nashville SC for the remainder of the 2019 USL Championship season.
"This will be a good opportunity for Forrest to receive regular playing time," FC Cincinnati General Manager Gerard Nijkamp said. "With a full roster and considerable depth at center back, we feel this loan is best for the club and for Forrest to continue growing in his professional career. We are appreciative of what Forrest has brought to FC Cincinnati on and off the pitch this season and wish him all the best in Nashville."
Lasso has made five appearances, including four starts, with FC Cincinnati in his first MLS campaign. The center back made his MLS debut, played 90 minutes and contributed to the club's second clean sheet of the season at New England on March 24. Lasso's most recent appearance came at Minnesota United FC on June 29.
Lasso joined FC Cincinnati in 2018, the club's final USL Championship season. In his lone season with FCC at the USL level, Lasso made 29 regular-season appearances, including 28 starts, and scored three goals. Following his impressive season, the Raleigh, N.C., native was named the 2018 USL Championship Defender of the Year.
FC Cincinnati will travel to face Toronto FC on Saturday, July 27. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, carried on the radio on WDJO (99.5 FM, 107.9 FM and 1480 AM), streamed regionally on FloFC, out of market on ESPN+, while an audio stream will be available at TuneIn (WDJO) and fccincinnati.com.
After Saturday's game, FCC will return home to play Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Nippert Stadium at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 3. All tickets for the game are on sale at fccincinnati.com/tickets or by calling 513-977-5425 (KICK). Pick Six mini plans, individual-game tickets and group options are on sale for all remaining games.
