
Fasko-Rudas, Everett Offense too Much for Victoria

EVERETT, Wash. - Martin Fasko-Rudas recorded his first WHL career hat trick while the Everett Silvertips outshot Victoria 44-19, thumping the Royals in a 5-1 victory before a sellout crowed of 8,393 at A.O.T.W. Arena on Saturday during Fan Appreciation Night.
Dawson Butt and Jalen Price also recorded goals for the Silvertips while goaltender Max Palaga earned the start and allowed one goal against, which came in the final five minutes of regulation. The Silvertips finish the regular season with 99 points and a 47-16-2-3 record.

The Tips surpassed 3.2 million fans (franchise total) with their 11th sellout of the season on Fan Appreciation Night, averaging 5,614 fans per game this season - their largest average attendance in eight years.

The Silvertips took a 1-0 lead at 9:06 with a power play goal scored by Fasko-Rudas. Royals' defenseman Ralph Jarratt was called for interference at 8:30, giving way for the Silvertips power play unit to cycle the puck from Robbie Holmes, to Gianni Fairbrother at the point, who blasted a shot followed by Fasko-Rudas burying the rebound.
Everett goaltender Max Palaga was a perfect seven-for-seven in the opening frame, while the Silvertips peppered 17 shots on visiting goaltender Brock Gould.
Everett came out sizzling in the second, scoring two goals in the first 42 seconds of the period. Fasko-Rudas' second goal of the night came at 0:30, to extend the Tips lead, 2-0. The import-forward stole the puck on an aggressive fore-check, then fed center Reece Vitelli in front of the crease, who finished a give-and-go sequence, as Fasko-Rudas finished on the blocker side.
Butt followed up with a goal 12 seconds later, to make it 4-0 at 0:42. Forward Conrad Mitchell fed Butt in the offensive zone from behind the net, where Butt drilled a one-time shot from the far circle.
Fasko-Rudas completed his hat trick, while short-handed, cruising past the defense just before his approach to the net to put Everett up 4-0 at 7:54 of the second. Forward Gage Goncalves found Fasko-Rudas streaking up the neutral zone with an outlet pass, where Fasko-Rudas finished the breakaway sliding the puck five-hole.
After two periods, Everett continued to outshoot Victoria, 38-12.
Forward Jalen Price tacked on another goal to make it 5-0 with 7:49 left in regulation. Max Patterson intercepted the puck in the neutral zone, who connected a pass to defenseman Jake Christiansen driving into the zone, who then fed forward Justyn Gurney, followed up with a to Price.
The Royals cut the deficit to 5-1 at 15:42 as winger D-Jay Miller drove the puck into the zone and squeezed it past Palaga off a feed from defenseman Remy Aquilon.
