
Fargo Snaps X's Three Game Winning Streak

Sioux City-----The Explorers three game winning streak came to an end Tuesday as Fargo-Moorhead defeated the X's 16-6 at Lewis and Clark Park.
In winning, the RedHawks ended a seven game losing streak as the visitors from Fargo hit five home runs. Jesse Hooorelbeke and Carlo Cota both had two home runs and Phil Britton added a solo shot in the 18 hits against three Sioux City pitchers. The RedHawks jumped on Explorers starter Ty Marotz for four runs in the first inning and virtually put the game away when they scored seven runs in the fourth. The Explorers had cut the lead to 5-3 in the third inning, but the seven run fourth sealed the deal for the RedHawks.
The X's also had two home runs, both solo round trippers by Kent Sakamoto and Ray Serrano that came back-to-back in the second inning. Although the Explorers lost, they stay six games behind first place Gary in the Central Division of the American Association as Gary also lost.
The Explorers will have an off day Wednesday before starting a three-game series on Thursday with Sioux Falls. Thursday and Saturday the Explorers will play at Sioux Falls with the Friday game in the three-game series at Lewis and Clark Park.
