St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (July 6, 2011) - It's a St. Paul Saints homestand that will leave fans green with envy. Make sure you're in good shape because you might running from zombies, but have no fear because the magic of Harry Potter will save you. It's one of the most jam packed week long homestands of the season from July 7-13.
The homestand begins with a four game series against the Gary SouthShore Railcats from July 7-10. On Thursday, July 7 at 7:05 p.m. the thrills and chills of "Welcome to Zombieland" for the Zombie Baseball Crawl presented by Discover Central Corridor will have everyone's heart racing. Tattered clothes, makeup and the look of someone who has risen from the dead is the perfect attire for a night like this, but be prepared because if you aren't one of the zombies upon arrival chances are you will be one when you depart. For those 21 and over enjoy $1 beer on Old Chicago Thirsty Thursday. If you're in the mood to win a little money then the St. Croix Casino Big Money Day is right up your alley as fans will have a chance to win up to $77,777.
Kevin Bacon once claimed he's been in a movie with everyone in Hollywood. Not sure if it's true, but we do know he was in Wild Things with Saints owner Bill Murray (one degree of separation). On Friday, July 8 at 7:05 p.m. it's Nine Innings of Kevin Bacon where we'll find out how many people he's actually connected too. In celebration of all that work, Xcel Energy will present Friday Night Fireworks following the game.
On Saturday, July 9 fans should arrive early for the Principal Financial Dream Tour presented by the Principal Financial Group. Everyone in attendance will have a chance to win $2,500 and can take their photos with Saints greats of the past. Also check out the new Dreamcatcher tool that shows how you can achieve all your financial dreams. In addition, make sure you study up for Success Saturday presented by University of Wisconsin - River Falls.
The final day of the series is Sunday, July 10 at 1:05 p.m. and we're getting fans, young and old, ready for the most anticipated blockbuster of the summer with Harry Potter Day. Midway Stadium will turn into Hogwarts Academy as all in attendance can dress up as their favorite magical character. The first 1,501 fans will receive a Wizard-Scarf. Following the game kids can run the bases and get autographs from the entire Saints team on S&W Beans & Butter Kernel Family Sunday. For the second time during the homestand fans can win up to $77,777 with St. Croix Casino Big Money Day.
The Winnipeg Goldeyes come to town for a four game series over three days and it begins with a 6:05 p.m. double header on Monday, July 11. Both games are scheduled for seven innings with game two beginning approximately 25 minutes at the conclusion of game one. The price of one ticket gets you into both games which means twice the fun as we salute Jack Lalanne with the World's Largest Workout presented by 5 Eyewitness News. We won't ask anyone to swim while handcuffed or even while pulling boats nor will we ask you to do over 1,000 pushups. We will, however, get everyone up on their feet and do some exercises that even a novice can do during the World's Largest Workout featuring the Energy Pilates and Fitness instructors. Throw on some spandex and join Debra Tourek and her staff in exercises the whole family will enjoy. Also, motorcycles park for free on Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Monday.
Make sure you wear green on Tuesday, July 12 or you just might get pinched during St. Paddy's Day in July presented by Ryan Companies. The green beer will be flowing and the leprechauns will be dancing as this festive day will be one you won't want to miss. Saints players will wear special St. Patrick Day jerseys and fans will have a chance to bid on them in a silent auction. Also, make sure to stay connected on TDS Tuesday.
If all those promotions aren't enough the Saints close out the week long celebration with a 1:05 p.m. game on Wednesday, July 13 in Computers Are Taking Over the World. This is your chance to get out of the office, leave everything that consumes your life at home (computers, Smartphone's, Blackberry's, etc) and enjoy an afternoon at the ballpark while Walter, Watson's less intelligent brother, partakes in the days activities. What better way to enjoy the afternoon than with the craziest tailgate party of the year on Walser Wednesday.
It's a weeklong celebration that's fun for the whole family. Whether it's blockbuster movies, a little exercise or even the undead, the fun is picking up this summer with the Saints.
Tickets are available for all home games starting at $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Friday Home Games with post-game fireworks (except August 26) are an additional $2 per ticket. August 26 features extended post-game fireworks and are an additional $3 per ticket.
