Fargo Force Score 3-1 Win vs. Omaha

January 9, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Fargo Force News Release

Last time the Omaha Lancers and the Fargo Force faced off Omaha came out on top with a 5-1 win...but not this time. Fargo scored first giving themselves a lead they maintained throughout the rest of the game. 26 saves from goaltender Brennan Boynton helped the Force come away with a 3-1 road win in Omaha.

The Force were on the board first in tonight's game thanks to Cody Monds. This was his second goal of the season in his second game with the Force. He was assisted by Jeremy Davidson, Fargo's team leader in assists (18), and Aaron Huglen. A little over two minutes later Huglen fired in a goal of his own off a rebounded shot from Jake Braccini. Period one ended with a 2-0 Fargo lead; they also outshot the opposing Lancers 8-4.

Period two saw a goal from each team. The first from Michael Cameron, he caught Boynton by firing one in far side to cut the Fargo lead down to one. Shortly after Matt Crasa shot one in straight down the middle off a feed from Tristan Broz, extending the Fargo lead to two. The Lancers outshot the Force in the second 12-4 but Boynton was rock solid in the net, allowing only one goal.

There was no scoring in the third although once again the Lancers outshot Fargo, this time 11-4. The Force improve to 13-3-2 with a league leading 28 points. They're back on the road again tomorrow, this time to Sioux City to take on the Musketeers in an afternoon matchup. Puck drop at 3:05 PM.
