Fans keep Kalamazoo flying into the future

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce that all five of their players (Nick Bootland, Daniel Carriere, Greg Labenski, Joel Martin, and Tyler Rennette) that were selected to the 2006 UHL All-Star Classic have been named as starters for Team Gatorade.

The game, which is hosted by the Missouri River Otters, will be played next Wednesday, January 25th at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri and will feature Team Gatorade (UHL's Western Division plus Kalamazoo, Flint and Muskegon) versus Team Aquafina (UHL's Eastern Division plus Motor City and Port Huron).

The K-Wings, who set their franchise's UHL record for most players sent to the game, have now set the league record for most starters in an All-Star Classic.

The starting lineup's for both Team Aquafina and Team Gatorade, where selected by fans who voted online at www.theuhl.com. "This is a reflection on how our fans have supported us since we took over the franchise four years ago," said Vice President/General Manager Paul L. Pickard. "It's quite a compliment for our players from what I consider the best fans in all of minor league hockey." Joining the five K-Wings in the starting lineup for Team Gatorade will be Muskegon Fury forward Robin Bouchard. The following is the starting lineup for Team Aquafina: Forwards David Beauregard (Roanoke Valley Vipers), Hugo Belanger (Adirondack Frostbite), David Hymovitz (Danbury Trashers) Defensemen: Scott Drevitch (Adirondack Frostbite), Dan Vandermeer (Richmond RiverDogs) Goaltender: Sylvain Daigle (Danbury Trashers)
