Mechanics Swap D-Men With Richmond

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League (UHL) announce today that they have traded Defenseman Henry Acres to the Richmond RiverDogs in exchange for Defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk.

Van Buskirk, 26, started his career in the OHL with the Sarnia Sting by putting up some impressive numbers along the way. Through the three seasons played in Sarnia, Van Buskirk tallied 101 points in the 172 games he played.

In the 2003-04 season with the Florida Everblades, Van Buskirk had his best year as a pro. Having played in only 27 games he tallied a career best 15 points including 13 assists.

This season Van Buskirk has played in 23 of Richmond's 38 games and has tallied two points and over 100 minutes in penalties.

Van Buskirk will be in the lineup tonight as the Mechanics face-off against the Flint Generals in Perani Arena at 7:05 PM.

In exchange for Van Buskirk, the Mechanics sent Henry Acres to the Richmond RiverDogs. Acres played in 33 games and totaled seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) over those games.

The Mechanics return home on Sunday January 22nd to face the Quad City Mallards. Sunday is also NASCAR night and all local schools and businesses in the area can get into the game for just $1!! Game time is 5:00 PM.
