Falcons Will Continue to Netcast Remaining Games
March 17, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons' final 11 regular season games and any possible playoff contests will be netcast live via the team's home page at www.fresnofalcons.com. The club will also continue to replay all home games the next day on non-cable channel 32, KJEO.
With the completed sale of the Falcons' radio home for the past six years, 103.1 FM The Mountain Cat, the club's 5-2 loss to the Alaska Aces on Tuesday was its final broadcast over the airwaves.
"We're extremely disappointed we won't be able to continue offering games on The Mountain Cat," said Falcons Director of Broadcasting & Media Relations Brian Clark. "We've been searching for a new radio home this entire season and will continue to do so until we find a new broadcast partner. I know having the games only on the internet isn't the best solution, unfortunately it's the best we can do right now. And although it's not set-up yet, we're also exploring options that would allow fans to continue listening to home games inside Save Mart Center while they watch the action."
The remaining netcasts will be formatted as they were on the radio. Every pre-game show begins 10 minutes before the scheduled game time with coach and player interviews before the game and between periods. Falcons sponsors and corporate partners will continue to have their commercial spots run and promotional messages read.
Fans may also watch every Falcons game over the internet through the team's home page on a pay-per-view basis courtesy of B2 Networks. The cost for each pay-per-view webcast is $6. Accessing the audio-only feed for each game is free.
The Falcons are in Las Vegas tomorrow to take on the Wranglers with the live netcast beginning at 6:50 p.m. They then return home on Tuesday, March 22, to battle the Gwinnett Gladiators in their final non-divisional game of the regular season. Tickets for the 7 p.m. tilt at Save Mart Center are on sale for as low as $8 per seat and may be purchased directly at Save Mart Center's box office and all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 485-TIXS (8497) or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
