Bombers Shutout 2-0 As Royals Playoff Tune-Up Continues

Reading, PA – The Dayton Bombers suffered a 2-0 shutout loss to the Reading Royals in front of 4,266 at The Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania Thursday night. Royals goaltender Barry Brust recorded the 31-save shutout on St. Patrick's Day.

The Royals opened the scoring with a powerplay goal from Graig Mischler, who buried his own rebound past Bombers starting goaltender Simon Lajeunesse with just 33.4 seconds remaining in the first period. Reading took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Following a scoreless second period, Preston Mizzi scored an insurance goal and the Royals went on the record the 2-0 win. It was the second straight shutout loss for the Bombers who were blanked, 1-0, in overtime by the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio Tuesday night.

The Dayton Bombers return to action Saturday night when they host the Johnstown Chiefs at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. Audio coverage begins at 7:00 PM at daytonbombers.com.
