PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Fresno Falcons scored three goals in a 2:35 span of the third period on Saturday at the Pensacola Civic Center to break open a 2-2 game on their way to a 6-3 victory over the Pensacola Ice Pilots. The win is Fresno's season-high third in a row and second straight against Pensacola as they move to 5-3-0 on the year.

The Ice Pilots opened the scoring with a power play goal when Mike Jones beat Fresno goaltender Nolan Schaefer with a one-timer at 3:50 of the first. The Falcons then evened the contest with a power play marker of their own at 9:04 of the opening period. Kris Porter sent home a rebound for his team-leading eighth of the season, and the teams moved to the second tied at one.

The teams traded goals in the second before Michael Kiesman led off his club 's third-period rally with his second of the year from Brad Mehalko at 5:47. Two minutes later Mike Sandbeck tipped a Jason Weaver wrist shot past Pensacola goaltender Brian Eklund, which was followed up by Kiesman's second of the night off another deflection to give the Falcons a 5-2 advantage at 8:22. Both teams scored short-handed goals in the game's final minutes, Fresno's coming with the net empty at the other end, to round out the scoring.
