Falcons Reassign Jamie Bates To Stockton

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today they have reassigned forward Jamie Bates to their ECHL affiliate, the Stockton Thunder. Bates was originally recalled by the Falcons on November 11 and appeared in six games with Springfield collecting one assist and five penalty minutes. He made his Falcons debut on November 15 against Albany. Bates started the season with Stockton and has played in 11 games for the Thunder averaging a-point-a-game with six goals and five assists for 11 points and two penalty minutes. Bates was tied for the Thunder team lead in goals and points at the time of his recall to Springfield. Bates participated in the 2009 Falcons training camp and also saw action in Springfield's preseason schedule.

Bates is in his second professional season after spending the 2008-09 season with Stockton. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Toronto, Ontario totaled 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points and 84 penalty minutes in 63 games with Stockton last year.

Bates played his college hockey with Quinnipiac University where he averaged a-point-a-game during his senior year collecting 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 34 games played. In 143 career games with Quinnipiac, Bates tallied 52 goals and 77 assists for 129 career points. On November 16, 2007 against Princeton, Bates became the 26th player in Quinnipiac men's hockey history to score 100 career points. Bates finished his career ranked 11th all-time at Quinnipiac in scoring.
