#1 Alex Stalock wearing his W6 Tribute Mask went a perfect 2-0-0 allowing just four goals on 54 shots (.925%) and is 2nd in the AHL with 13 wins.
#2 Logan Couture scores twice including the game winning goal in 4-2W at Springfield on Friday and leads the AHL with SIX game winning goals.
#3 Steven Zalewski nets game winning goal in shootout victory over Portland on Sunday to extend franchise record point streak to EIGHT games (7-0-0-1).

12.4.09 - Worcester 4 - Springfield 2 - Mass Mutual Center
Logan Couture scored his team leading 8th and 9th goals, including his league leading 6th game winning goal of the season as the Sharks won their 6th straight game in a 4-2 win over the Falcons at the Mass Mutual Center on Friday night. Worcester's Alex Stalock made 20 saves and Benn Ferriero added a goal and an assist as the Sharks defeated the Falcons for the 4th straight time this season. Dwight Helminen scored his 4th of the season and Nick Petrecki picked up his 3rd fighting major as the Sharks outshot the Falcons 37-22.
12.5.09 - Worcester 4 - Manchester 5 - Shootout - Verizon Wireless Arena
Steven Zalewski and Benn Ferriero scored in the final five minutes of the third period to force overtime but the Monarchs went 5-for-8 in the shootout as the Sharks dropped a 5-4 decision at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday night. Zalewski had three points (1-2-3), Benn Ferriero scored twice, and Logan Couture had two assists for the Sharks. Couture, Ferriero, Mashinter, and Quirk scored in the eight round shootout loss while Tyson Sexsmith made 25 saves and was 3-for-8 in the shootout.
12.6.09 - Worcester 3 - Portland 2 - Shootout - DCU Center
Andrew Desjardins and Dan DaSilva scored for the Sharks in regulation and Steven Zalewski recorded the game winning goal in the shootout as the Sharks extended their franchise record point streak to eight games (7-0-0-1) with a 3-2 win over Portland on Sunday. Alex Stalock picked up his 13th win of the season making 30 saves and going 3-for-3 in the shootout while wearing his W6 Tribute mask. Joe Callahan picked up his first fight of the season with a second period bout with Kyle Wanvig.
Sharks in the Atlantic
The Sharks are currently swimming in 2nd place with 32 points (15-10-0-2) in the Atlantic Division through 27 games trailing the first place Manchester Monarchs by seven points. The Sharks lead the 3rd place Devils by one point and the 4th place Sound Tigers by two points. The Bruins, Wolf Pack, and Pirates are tied in 5th place with 29 points while the Falcons sit in 8th place with 26 points to round out the eight team division in a very choppy Atlantic Division.

*400 WINS!....With the 4-1 victory vs. Springfield on November 1st, head coach Roy Sommer became just the 4th coach in AHL history to reach the 400 win plateau.

*In Coach Sommer's first AHL victory.... The Kentucky Thoroughblades defeated the Albany River Rats 6-4 at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on October 17th 1998. Coincidentally, Assistant Coach David Cunniff recorded an assist as a member of the River Rats in the hockey game.
*Assistant Coach David Cunniff has joined Coach Sommer in 251 of the 408 victories (62%).

*Captains for the 2009-10 season: Captain Ryan Vesce (2nd year), Assistant Captains Derek Joslin (2nd year) and Mike Moore (1st year).... T.J. Trevelyan, Joe Callahan, Steven Zalewski, Frazer McLaren, and Dwight Helminen have also worn the "A" on their jerseys.
*From east to west..... The Sharks already have TEN players that heave seen action to both the AHL and NHL this season (McLaren, Zalewski, Vesce, Joslin, McGinn, Couture, Callahan, Ferriero, Mitchell, and Demers).
