Sulzer Recalled By Predators

Milwaukee, WI-Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Alexander Sulzer from Milwaukee. The Predators have also reassigned goaltender Jeremy Smith to Cincinnati (ECHL) and reassigned goalie Mark Dekanich from Cincinnati to Milwaukee. In addition, the Admirals have recalled defenseman Reid Cashman from Cincinnati and released forward Matt Pierce from his PTO.

Sulzer has been recalled from the Admirals three times this season, and has played in five games with the Predators in 2009-10, posting his first career point/assist on Oct. 22 at Ottawa, while averaging 12:46 of ice time and notching a plus-two rating. During his most recent stint with Milwaukee, the Kaufbeuren, Germany native notched three assists in three games from Dec. 2-5, giving him 10 points (1g-9a) in 10 AHL games this season.

Dekanich played a pair of games with the Cyclones last weekend, picking up wins in both contests and stopping a combined 51 of 52 shots including a 27-save shutout of Florida on Saturday night. Dekanich is 5-5-2 with a 2.78 goals against average and a.891 save percentage in 13 games with the Admirals this season.

Smith has posted a 6-4-1 record with a 2.45 goals against average, a.903 save percentage and one shutout with the Cyclones in his first professional season. The Dearborn, MI native made his AHL debut in relief last Friday night, making one save in five minutes of action.

The Admirals are back in action on Friday, December 11 at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center against the San Antonio Rampage. The first 10,000 fans will receive a We Energies 2010 Calendar.
