
Moose Pick Up Four Points In Week 10

Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose earned four of a possible 10 points in Week 10 after a double-header at home followed by a 'three-in-three' series on the road. The Moose split their only home set this season with the North Division leading Rochester Americans on Tuesday and Wednesday, dropping the opening game 4-1 but coming back to win the rematch 2-1. Manitoba then gave up a season-high seven goals in a 7-1 loss to Peoria on Friday and then were doubled-up in Milwaukee the following night by a 4-2 score. They finished the week with a 4-3 victory over the IceHogs in their first matinee performance this season.
Tuesday, December 1, 2009: Manitoba 1, Rochester 4 Even though the Moose scored the first goal of the night, the visiting Americans notched four in a row to record a 4-1 victory over Manitoba in front of 6,343 fans at MTS Centre on Tuesday night. Mike Keane scored Manitoba's lone goal while Cory Schneider stopped 28 of 32 shots.
Wednesday, December 2, 2009: Manitoba 2, Rochester 1 After falling to the Americans 4-1 on Tuesday night, the Moose got revenge and beat the Rochester club 2-1 in the rematch on Wednesday in front of 6,342 fans at MTS Centre. New addition Aaron Rome notched both goals for Manitoba while goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 26 of 27 shots.
Friday, December 4, 2009: Manitoba 1, Peoria 7 The Manitoba Moose gave up a season-high seven goals Friday night in a 7-1 loss to the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena. Brian Salcido scored Manitoba's only goal while goaltenders Cory Schneider and Daren Machesney both saw ice time in the loss.
Saturday, December 6, 2009: Manitoba 2, Milwaukee 4 The Manitoba Moose dropped their second consecutive game when they were on the losing end of a 4-2 decision to the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday night in front of 6,119 spectators at the Bradley Center. Pierre-Cedric Labrie and Aaron Rome both notched goals for Manitoba while Daren Machesney stopped 26 of 30 shots.
Sunday, December 7, 2009: Manitoba 4, Rockford 3 Manitoba closed-out their second 'three-in-three' series this season with a 4-3 victory over the Rockford IceHogs on Sunday afternoon in front of 2,577 fans at the MetroCentre. Sergei Shirokov opened the scoring while Brian Salcido, Guillaume Desbiens and Aaron Rome all notched powerplay markers. Goaltender Cory Schneider stopped 21 of 24 shots for his 12th win this season.
Moose Notes
THIRTY COMES EARLY: Manitoba's game against Milwaukee on Saturday, Dec. 5/09, was their 30th contest this season. It was the earliest 30th game the Moose have ever played in franchise history. Last season, the Moose didn't embark on their 30th game until Dec. 27/08. The previous earliest 30th game the Moose have played was on Dec. 8/99 @ Kansas City (5-4W). After Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Admirals, the club holds a 7-4-1-2 record in their 30th game of a season.
UNLUCKY NUMBER SEVEN: The Moose gave up a season-high seven goals in Friday night's loss to the Peoria Rivermen. The last time the club gave up seven goals in regulation time dates back to Nov. 11/06 when the club dropped a 7-3 decision to Hershey. Before last night, the Manitoba's season high goals against was five which had occurred in a 5-4 overtime loss to Hamilton on November 21, 2009.
Upcoming Opponents
The Manitoba Moose will close-out their first-ever four-game regular season series against the Admirals this weekend with a double-header at the Norfolk Scope. So far this season, the Moose are winless against the Admirals, holding a 0-2-0-0 record after consecutive 3-1 losses at MTS Centre.

For the first time this season, Moose defenceman Aaron Rome is the nominee for AHL Player of the Week... This week, the Nesbitt, MB native recorded five points (4g & 1a) while firing 13 shots on net... On December 2, Rome recorded two goals against the first-place Rochester Americans to confirm a 2-1 victory for his club... He fired a team-high five shots on net and finished the night a plus-1... On Friday night in Peoria, he earned an assist on Manitoba's lone goal in a 1-7 loss to the Rivermen... The next night, he earned another goal and fired three shots in a 2-4 loss to the Admirals... He closed-out the week with the game-winning goal in a 4-3 victory against Rockford on Sunday... In five games with the Moose this season, Rome has recorded five-points (4g & 1a) along with 13 penalty minutes...
