Falcons Rally For 4-3 Win At Lowell

The Springfield Falcons beat the Lowell Devils 4-3 on Saturday night at the Paul Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA. The Falcons used power play goals in the third period by Jordan Eberle and Charles Linglet to come all the way back from a 3-1 deficit. The Falcons will look for two straight wins when they head to Portland on Sunday for a 4 pm start.

Lowell's Barry Tallackson opened the scoring at 7:20 of the first period giving the Devils a 1-0 lead. Colin McDonald tied the score for Springfield at 16:51 of the opening frame with a shorthanded marker.

The scoring picked up in the second period as Lowell built a 3-1 advantage when Matt Halischuk and Nicklas Bergfors scored less than two minutes apart early in the middle frame. The Falcons cut their deficit to 3-2 at 16:53 of the second period when Ryan Potulny scored his 34th goal of the year.

In the third period, the Falcons came all the way back and tied the score at 3-3 when Eberle scored his second goal of the year at 12:32, his first on the power play. At 18:37 of the third period, Linglet converted on the power play giving the Falcons their first and only lead of the night at 4-3.
