Falcons Open Trip With 4-1 Win Over Aces

Anchorage, Alaska - The Fresno Falcons opened their three-game series in Anchorage with a 4-1 win in front of 4,537 fans at Sullivan Arena.
Alaska drew first blood with a power-play goal just 1:37 into the opening period. Stephen Wood took a shot from the right point that was redirected in front by Kevin Croxton, who picked up his 10th goal of the season.
Fresno drew even at 7:42. John Morlang knocked down a shot inside of the Falcons zone, caught up to the rolling puck in the Alaska zone, and was able to jam a shot past goaltender Isaac Reichmuth for his team-leading 11th goal of the year.
The Falcons took the lead 12:59 into the second period. Tomas Fojtik gathered in a loose puck behind the Aces' net, and centered in front for Dave Borrelli who beat Reichmuth with a quick shot for his first goal with the Falcons, and his second goal overall on the season.
Fresno extended its lead at 16:08. Tyler Kindle took a quick shot from the left point, which deflected off of Reichmuth's both and into the net for his fifth tally of the year.
Morlang iced the game with his second goal of the game, into an empty net, with 1:19 left.
MacDonald turned aside 40 shots on the night, including all 22 he faced in the third period, to record his third straight win, and his fifth overall on the season.
The Falcons continue their three-game series in Alaska on Friday at 8:15 p.m. PT. Catch all of the action on 1550 Sporting News Radio, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 8:00.
Fresno returns home on Friday, December 15, hosting the Bakersfield Condors at 7:30 p.m. on Save a Family Red Cross Jersey Auction Night, presented by CBS 47, 93.7 The Fox, and Fresno Bee Press Club. The Falcons will wear special holiday jerseys which will be auctioned off following the game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross' Save a Family Campaign.
