Ice Pilots goaltender Michael Mole recalled to Bridgeport

PENSACOLA, FL -- The Bridgeport Sound Tigers recalled goaltender Michael Mole from ECHL affiliate the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Thursday. This is Mole's second call-up to Bridgeport from Pensacola this season.

Mole played one game during his first stint with the Sound Tigers and stopped 34 of 36 regulation and overtime shots before beating the Hershey Bears 3-2 in a shootout on Oct. 21. Hershey failed to score in three shootout attempts and Mole earned the first star of the game honors.

In 12 games with Pensacola this season, Mole has a record of 3-6-1-0 with a 4.09 goals against average and an .897 save percentage.

Mole, 24, was born in Orleans, Ontario. The 6-foot, 183-pound goaltender played for Phoenix and San Diego of the ECHL last winter. He has played in two American Hockey League games, his first with the Lowell Lock Monsters in 2002-03.

The Sound Tigers, coming off an overtime win against Binghamton on Wednesday, visit Binghamton on Saturday.
