Dayton Bombers News Release
Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers and P&R Communications will host Police and Fire "Battle of the Badge" Night on Saturday, December 9, 2006, at the Ervin J. Nutter Center at 7:00 p.m. as they face off against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Local police and fire departments square off in rounds of tug-of-war for the annual "Battle of the Badge" competition. Preliminary rounds will be held prior to the Bombers game, and a champion will be crowned during the on-ice finals. The entry fee from each participating team will be donated to the sister charities of the police and fire departments, Miami Valley Crime Stoppers and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, respectively.
Saturday's game will also feature the Bombers 10th Annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears and stuffed animals to be thrown on the ice after the Bombers score their first goal of the game. All of the items collected will be donated to Children's Medical Center of Dayton, For Love of Children, Inc. and local police and fire agencies.
The Bombers will take on the Cyclones for the fifth installment of the 12-part Cricket Cup series. The series is currently tied at two games a piece, following the Bombers 3-2 shootout victory over the Cyclones on Saturday, December 2 at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati.
Great season ticket locations and sponsorship opportunities are still available! Individual game tickets are on sale now. The Bombers return to the Nutter Center on Friday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Johnstown Chiefs. For more information contact the Bombers office at 775-4747 or log on to www.daytonbombers.com. The Dayton Bombers are the proud affiliate to the "AAA" Syracuse Crunch of the AHL and the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL.
