
Stingrays Fraser Named CCM Vector ECHL Rookie Of The Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - South Carolina defenseman Jamie
Fraser is the CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month for November.
The 21-year-old leads ECHL defensemen with 19 assists and 24 points in 21
games while his five goals tie him for fifth. He leads league rookies in
assists and points and is tied for third with nine power-play assists and
tied for fifth with 10 power-play points.
The 6-foot-1 and 200-pound Fraser had five multiple-point games, including
four with a career-high two assists, and registered a point in eight of 13
games in November. He had a career-high three points (1g-2a) on Nov. 11 at
Pensacola and scored six points (2g-4a) in the last three games of the
month, including back-to-back games with two assists on Nov. 24 against
Gwinnett (1g-2a) and Nov. 25 against Texas (0g-2a). He has had two assists
in eight of his 21 games and has scored multiple points in nine games.
Fraser signed with the Stingrays on Apr. 4, upon completion of his season
with Sarnia in the Ontario Hockey League, and had a goal in three regular
season games and two points (1g-1a) in six games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
He played four seasons in the OHL and had 104 points (33g-71a) and 139
penalty minutes in 249 regular season games and six points (3g-3a) and
eight penalty minutes in 22 playoff games with Brampton and Sarnia. He had
career highs in 2005-06 with Sarnia with 16 goals, 26 assists, 42 points
and 68 penalty minutes in 65 games after having career bests in 2004-05
with Sarnia with 10 goals, 21 assists, 31 points and 66 games.
