Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
The Pensacola Ice Pilots have won three of their last five games (3-2-0) on this recent stretch that began on the road with a 6-5 win over the Augusta Lynx last Tuesday. After a 5-2 loss to the Lynx on the following Thursday, the Ice Pilots followed that with a 4-2 victory over the Charlotte Checkers. The road trip concluded with a 6-4 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays. The Ice Pilots returned home with a 2-1 triumph over the Charlotte Checkers on Tuesday night at The Hangar.
ROSTER MOVEMENT: The Pensacola Ice Pilots were assigned forward Luciano Aquino from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
DODGE/ICE PILOTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: This week forward Colin Hemingway was outstanding with four goals and two assists for six points in four games. Hemingway collected a goal apiece in a win and loss over Augusta and then had two goals in a loss to South Carolina.
PENALTY KILLING REMAINS SOLID: It was another solid week for the Pensacola Ice Pilots penalty killing as they are now 11th best in the ECHL and improved to 8th on home ice. The Ice Pilots are the third most penalized team at the Hangar and but continue to do a good job in turning away opponent scoring changes.
