Monych Reassigned To San Antonio

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have announced that forward Lance Monych has been re-assigned by the Coyotes to San Antonio of the American Hockey League.

Monych, 22, is currently tied for seventh on the RoadRunners in scoring with five goals and 10 points through 19 games. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native and second-year pro appeared in 37 games with the Rampage last season before he was assigned to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. Drafted in the fourth round by Phoenix at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Monych netted 110 goals and 236 points in 319 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League.

The RoadRunners continue a three-game series with the division leading Idaho Steelheads at 7:10 p.m. Thursday from Qwest Arena in Boise. Catch all the action live on www.phxroadrunners.com beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 6:50 p.m. Phoenix captured their first win in eight tries against the Steelheads 4-3 last night in the series opener and now trail Idaho by just two points for the West Division lead.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 as they welcome the Victoria Salmon Kings. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
