The event, put on by the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, starts at 6:00 pm and includes live music and cooking demos. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the event. For more information contact the chamber at 255-5805.
HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR: The Dell Diamond will be host to three High School All Star Games this week. The first game, the Austin Area HS All Star Game, will be tomorrow evening at 8:00 pm. The Texas State HS All Star Games will be held this Saturday. Starting at noon will be the 1A-3A game, with the 4A-5A game starting at 4:00 pm.
YELLOW RIBBON CONCERT SERIES: The Yellow Ribbon Concert Series comes to Central Texas at the Round Rock Dell Diamond on June 20th and 21st. Part of the proceeds from the series will benefit the families of servicemen and women from Fort Hood, TX who were injured or killed serving our country in the Middle East.
The Friday, June 20th show is dedicated to Classic Rock. The show features Foreigner with Lead Singer Lou Gramm and The Little River Band. Also scheduled to appear is the hot local group Feeding 5000.
Foreigner with Lead Singer Lou Gramm, also scheduled to appear soon on Good Morning America and Late Night with David Letterman, is recognized for such classic hits as "Urgent", "Cold as Ice", "Hot Blooded", and "Feels Like the First Time". With nearly fifty million albums sold in the United States alone, Foreigner is one of the most successful rock bands in history.
The Little River Band has had ten top-ten hits in the US charts, and has sold over twenty million albums worldwide. The group just recently introduced a new live CD, "One Night in Mississippi". The band has had such classic hits as "Reminiscing", "The Other Guy", "Lady" and "Lonesome Loser".
Saturday, June 21st features a Country Festival with Texas flavor. Scheduled to appear are Austin, Texas natives Rick Trevino and Tommy Shane Steiner, Allie Danielle (recognized as an up and coming star in Country Music and has a new single scheduled for release in early June), the hit group Anytown, and Brandon Rhyder.
Rick Trevino is blazing a swift and powerful path to country music stardom. Trevino made country music history early in his career when his first single was the first traditional country single to be released in both English and Spanish versions. Rick is known for such chart topping hits as "She Can't Say I Didn't Cry","Doctor Time", and "Honky Tonk Crowd", featured in the Michael Keaton/Geena Davis movie "Speechless". His new CD, "In My Dreams" is scheduled for release on June 9th.
Tommy Shane Steiner comes from a well respected family in Austin and has quickly gained national attention. Tommy's first single, "What If She's An Angel" hit "breaker" status on R&R's country airplay chart on the singles initial impact date â something that hasn't been accomplished by a debut artist in this format in over four years. He also has such hits as "That Just Wouldn't Be Me", "Let Go", and "I Don't Need Another Reason (with Randy Travis)".
These are the first two events in the Yellow Ribbon Series with more to come throughout the summer and fall. Doors open at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock at 5:00 p.m. for the Friday, June 20th show and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21st. Tickets can be purchased by calling STAR Tickets at 469-SHOW or online at www.startickets.com.
