DES MOINES, Iowa -- Matt Bruback tossed a complete game and Bobby Hill knocked in a pair of runs as the Iowa Cubs defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs, 5-1 on Sunday afternoon in Des Moines.

Bruback (4-6), who singled and scored in a four-run second frame, allowed a run, scattered four hits and fanned four batters in the win. Hill, who has knocked in seven runs in his last three games, slapped a two-run single through the left side in the second inning and drew a pair of walks. Nic Jackson finished with three hits and a pair of runs scored, and Phil Hiatt and Midre Cummings each knocked in a run for Iowa, which took three of four games in the weekend series.

Henri Stanley launched a lead-off homer in the seventh inning for New Orleans, which has lost six of its last 10 games. Greg Miller (0-1) surrendered five runs, eight hits and three walks in just three innings for the loss.

The Zephyrs open a nine game home stand on Monday at 7:05 p.m. The Z's will play the Nashville Sounds for four games followed by the Colorado Springs Sky Sox for five. All the games can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs and Ron Swoboda calling the action.
