New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Metairie, LA -- John Buck and Kyle Logan each had three hits to lead the New Orleans Zephyrs (36-27) past the Nashville Sounds (33-29) 6 to 3 on Monday Night in front of 2,389 at Zephyr Field.
Eric Bruntlett led off the game with a single off Sounds starter John Wasdin. After singles by Henri Stanley and Raul Chavez, Bruntlett scored on a sacrifice fly by Alan Zinter. Nashville would tie the game with a run in the fourth inning as Carlos Rivera would score on a sacrifice fly from Dave Doster.
The Zephyrs would take the lead for good with two runs in the fourth as Jason Alfaro would score on a single from Bruntlett and Logan would score on a fielder's choice from Stanley. Zephyrs starter Doug Sessions (2-1) would pick up the win pitching 5 1/3 innings allowing one earned run on six hits. Sounds starter John Wasdin (6-3) would suffer the loss pitching six innings allowing ten hits, three earned runs while striking out five.
The series with the Sounds concludes on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.. Tuesdays at Zephyrs games is Twizzlers Two for Tuesday.
