The Sky Sox hammered out 18 hits scoring 13 runs in a 13-4 pounding of the Oklahoma RedHawks. Seven players for the Sox had multiple hits on the day, including a 4 hit 6 RBI game from designated hitter Rene Reyes. Cory Vance (8-4) picked up his team leading 8th win of the season pitching 8 innings allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits. The Sky Sox will square off against the Portland Beavers in a 4-game series at Sky Sox Stadium starting on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. The Sox will send Randy Flores (5-3, 3.96) to the mound in the 1st game of the series against Oklahoma's starter who is yet to be determined

Sox win 1st game of doubleheader in pitchers duel
Sox win 2-1 6/7/2003
The Sky Sox won the 1st game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Oklahoma RedHawks 2-1 behind the pitching of Denny Neagle. Neagle (2-0) pitched 6 strong innings allowing 1 run, scattering 6 hits and striking out 5. The Sox fell behind early when the RedHawks scored in the 1st inning, but a took the lead with 2 runs in the 6th on an RBI double from Raul Casanova, and an RBI single from Armando Romero. Brad Clontz picked up his 13th save of the season closing out the RedHawks in the 7th. Chris Michalak (5-5, 3.34) will start for the Sox in the second game of the day going up against the RedHawks Robert Ellis (1-6, 6.32)

Sox take 2 on Saturday from Oklahoma
Sox win 4-3 6/7/2003
The Sky Sox won the 2nd game of Saturday's doubleheader 4-3 to complete a 2-game sweep of the Oklahoma RedHawks on the day. In another game in which both teams struggled to get runs across the plate, the Sky Sox pitchers proved to be the deciding factor. Sox starter Chris Michalak (6-5) pitched 5.2 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits. Matt Miller and Brad Clontz came out of bullpen to close out the RedHawks pitching a perfect 1.1 innings, with Clontz picking up his 13th save of the season and 2nd on the day. David Newhan hit the winning home run in the 5th with Garrett Atkins on 1st giving the Sox the 4-3 lead. These two teams square of in the final game of the series tomorrow afternoon at 1:35 at Sky Sox Staduim. The Sox will send Cory Vance (7-4, 4.52) to the mound to face the RedHawks Tony Mounce (0-0, 4.50).
