Windsor Express News Release
WINDSOR, ON - The Windsor Express dropped a hard-fought game to the Moncton Miracles, 111-100 at the WFCU Centre, Feb. 23.
The Express were outscored 60-42 in the paint thanks mostly to Miracles forward Isaac Butts, who had game-high totals of 23 points and 14 rebounds.
After a 15-point outburst from Darren Duncan the home team was up 36-34 in the first quarter, the Express struggled from the field and found themselves down by seven points at halftime.
Windsor fought its way back to tie the game after being down 10 points in the fourth quarter but Moncton responded with a 10-0 run and went on to take the game despite a spirited effort from the Express.
Duncan was just shy of a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds. Chris Commons scored 21 points off of the bench after sitting out against London, Feb. 21st with a knee injury. Three other Express players finished the game with 12 points or more.
The Express will look forward to another matchup with the Montreal Jazz, Feb.27 at the WFCU Centre before hosting the St. John Mill Rats and Oshawa Power on consecutive nights, March 1st and 2nd.
