
Lightning Defeats Summerside in Overtime

(London, ON) The London Lightning took the overtime victory against Summerside Storm 118-114 Saturday night at Budweiser Gardens. All 3,722 fans were brought to their feet during the closest match to date. It was a tight three quarters until the Lightning finally took the lead with two massive three-pointers from DeAnthony Bowden. He garnered 20 points and 2 rebounds. The fourth quarter had multiple lead changeups until Summerside tied it up 100-100 with one second left. It was another big game for Marvin Phillips, taking 28 points and 19 rebounds.
During overtime it was Morgan Lewis who really got the crowd to their feet. He made 8 points in overtime, 18 points total. "I guess I work well under pressure," Lewis laughed. "It was a great game. The atmosphere is really what got me. The crowd was amazing and that's what really helped us get that win." This is Morgan's second home game back after a two month injury. "It feels so good to be back on the court. It was such a long two months but it feels great to be back." Summerside Captain Brandon Robinson led his team through the first three quarters with 23 points and nine total rebounds.
The next home game for the Lightning is Thursday, 28 February against the Saint John Millrats.
