Miracles Pull out the Win Down the Stretch against the Express

(Windsor, ON) The Moncton Miracles, presented by Rogers, defeated the Windsor Express a final score of 111-100. The Miracles now sit with a 18-20 record.

The Miracles would have another quick start in this game and take an early 7-4 lead over the Express. Windsor would soon have the game tied up and then take control of the scoreboard for the remainder of the first quarter. The Express would lead by as many as 7 points with Darren Duncan leading the way for his team with 15 points. The quarter would end with the Miracles trailing 34-36.

With just under 7 minutes remaining in the second quarter the Miracles would tie the game up once again at 43-43. The Express would begin to pull away until Isaac Butts laid the ball in the net for Moncton to give them their first lead of the quarter, 50-49. The Miracles would continue to play hard and finish the half with a 59-55 lead over their opponents.

4 minutes into the third, Moncton had increased their lead to a 10-point spread, 65-55. Windsor would try and close the gap over the next 8 minutes but would only be able to come within 5-points of Moncton. The Miracles would maintain their level of play and finish the next 12-minutes with a 10-point lead going into the final quarter, 84-74.

The Express would come out strong early in the fourth quarter and at the 9-minute mark would have the game tied up at 87-87. The Miracles would not settle with this tight of a game and put on a major push. They would regain the lead showing just how bad they want that last playoff spot.

Isaac Butts led the way for the Miracles with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Devin Sweetney followed with 22 points while Darrell Wonge added in 19.

Darren Duncan was the force for the Express with 25 points, 13 assists, and 8 rebounds. Chris Commons was next with 21 points and Mike Helms with 14 points.

Technical fouls were given to Miracles Devin Sweetney and Express' Darren Duncan. Miracles Sylvania Watkins was fouled out of the game.
