
Express Defeat Zephyrs In Extra Innings

(METAIRIE, LA) - For the second straight game, Round Rock 3B Mike Coolbaugh led the way, driving in a crucial run in the top of the 10th inning as the Express take their second straight road win from New Orleans, 4-2.
The Express jumped to the early lead with solo runs in the first and second innings. Carlos Rivera's RBI double in the first scoring Brooks Conrad, and Lance Berkman's two out, RBI single paved the way and Round Rock led 2-0.
The Zephyrs picked up solo runs in the sixth and eighth innings to tie it at two each.
Then in the top of the tenth, Berkman walked, Charles Gipson pinch ran, and Brooks Conrad dropped a sacrifice bunt toward first. Pitcher Roy Corcoran threw the ball wide of first, Gipson scored all the way from first to give the Express the lead. Then Coolbaugh came through with an RBI double to finish the scoring for Round Rock at 4-2.
Mike Burns came on to notch save number seven as the Express won its second road game. Burns is currently ranked first in the PCL in the Rolaid's Relief Man standings.
Round Rock and New Orleans meet in game three of the series at 7:05 PM on Wednesday at Zephyr Field.
