The Iowa Cubs scored a season-high 10 runs as they topped the Nashville Sounds 10-8 Monday night at Principal Park, snapping their six game losing streak.
Scott McClain homered and doubled for the Cubs, while Richard Lewis, Geovany Soto and Shane Halter each added a pair of hits as the Cubs improved to 9-15 on the year.
Starter Renyel Pinto picked ur his first win of the year and improved to 1-2 on the year. Andy Pratt was tagged with the loss for the Sounds.
Algona native Brad Nelson had three hits, including a home run for the Sounds.
The Cubs and Sounds will meet in game two of their four-game set Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. Iowa's Jon Leicester will face Nashville's Jose Capellan.
