
Explorers Drop Fourth Straight

Sioux Falls, SD-----For the second consecutive game the Explorers were shutout by Sioux Falls. Friday the Canaries blanked the Explorers 2-0 as Sioux City lost their fourth straight, matching their longest losing streak of the season.
Being shutout for the second straight night, the Explorers have now gone 20 consecutive innings without scoring a run. The last run the X's scored was in the sixth inning on Wednesday in a 6-3 loss to the Canaries.
Andy Noga threw a complete game for the Explorers, his first in his first year as a pro, but took the loss as he drops to 3-7 for the season.
The Explorers outhit Sioux Falls eight to five, but the Explorers hit into three double plays, two of which came with runners in scoring position. Bryan Pounds led the Explorers with three hits.
Sioux Falls has won the first three games of this series as the Explorers will try to salvage the final game of the series Saturday at Sioux Fall Stadium with game time set for 7:05pm.
