Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Martin Fasko-Rudas had a goal and two assists, and Dustin Wolf saved 20 shots in a shutout win to close out the third game in as many days for the Everett Silvertips in a 4-0 victory over the Kamloops Blazers in front of a crowd of 4,417 in WHL action on Sunday.

Patrick Bajkov scored his 107th career goal to tie Tyler Maxwell for the franchise record in goals scored, and Bryce Kindopp also added a power play goal for the power play to go 3-of-7 in the win. Fasko-Rudas' three points were a career high as the Tips swept the Blazers in the season.

The Tips clinched a tie for a WHL Playoff spot with a win, and can clinch outright with the next point gained by them or point lost by Kamloops.

UP NEXT: The Tips return to play on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 7:05 p.m. against the Spokane Chiefs at Spokane Arena. The Tips return home Sunday Feb. 25 against the Spokane Chiefs at 4:05 p.m. Tickets are on sale at www.everettsilvertips.com/ticketcentral.

The Silvertips and Blazers traded penalties early in the first period, but neither amounted in a goal. Once again, Everett kept up heavy shot pressure against opposing goaltender, and at 11:05 Fasko-Rudas, recently slotted on a line with Bajkov and Matt Fonteyne, got a shot past Max Palaga. The goal was a turning point in the period and the Silvertips, who had been fairly even for the first half of the game, took control of the puck and ended the period with shots 15-9.

The second period fully belong to the Silvertips with shots at 17-6, the Blazers first shot not coming until around eight minutes in. A high sticking penalty from former Silvertip Montana Onyebuchi led to a power play goal from Jake Christiansen's point shot, assisted by Fasko-Rudas and Wyatte Wylie. To close out the period, another penalty by Onyebuchi led to another Everett power play goal, 18:17 into the period on Bajkov's slapper from the right circle for the 107th of his career. The period ended with the Silvertips leading the Blazers 3-0, more than doubling them in shots.

In the third period another former Silvertip, Orrin Centazzo, went to the penalty box and the Silvertips capitalized yet again, Kindopp scoring his 18th of the season on a rebound attempt assisted by Fasko-Rudas and Matt Fonteyne at 5:18. Bronson Sharp was sent to the box not long after, but the Silvertips killed off the penalty, Dustin Wolf ending the kill with a glove save.

Palaga made 42 saves in the loss.
