
Everett Defeats Winter Hawks 5-2

Everett, Wa. - Tyler Maxwell scored two goals and assisted on a third to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 5-2 win over the Portland Winter Hawks in front of 6,314 at the Comcast Arena on Friday night.
Portland has now lost four in a row and their record dropped to 7-18-0-0 (14 points) while Everett improved to 13-8-3-0 (29 points).
The Hawks scored the first goal - a chip shot by Killian Hutt on a four-on-four opportunity early in the first period - and the final goal - a shorthanded wrist shot from Joel Ridgeway - but Everett scored five in between to get the win. Ridgeway's goal was his first as a Winter Hawk.
Maxwell scored the first two goals for Everett and then set up Mike Alexander for the third, on the power play, to give Everett a 3-1 lead. They would add goals from Graham Potuer in the second and Jordan Mistelbacher in the third to extend their lead to 5-1.
Shayne Barrie stopped 19 of 21 shots in the win for Everett while Kurtis Mucha handled 37 of 42 in the loss for Portland.
On special teams, Portland went 0 for 7 on the power play while Everett went 1 for 7.
Next up, the Hawks will finish their seven game in nine night stretch at the Key Arena in Seattle. Game time is 7:00.
