
Hawks Drop Game to Seattle 6-2

Seattle, WA- Prab Rai scored two goals and assisted on three others to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 6-2 win over the Portland Winter Hawks in front of 5,637 at the Key Arena in Seattle.
The loss was the fifth in a row for Portland on the road, and they finish their seven game in nine night stretch with a record of 2-5-0-0. They are now 7-19-0-0 (14 points) on the season while Seattle improves to 10-13-1-2 (23 points).
Jim O'Brien contributed two goals and one assist while Jonathan Parker and Thomas Hickey each had three assists for Seattle. Seattle also got goals from Brenden Silvester and Greg Scott.
Portland's two goals both were power play markers, one by Brad Ross in the first period and the second by Radim Valchar in the final minute of play.
Keith Hamilton started in net for Portland and stopped seven shots on 10 shots in 12:14 of game action before giving way to Kurtis Mucha who stopped 22 of 25 shots the rest of the way. Calvin Pickard stopped 27 of 29 shots in the win for Seattle.
On special teams, Portland went 2 for 4 on the power play while Seattle finished 1 for 5.
Next up, the Hawks will return to Everett next Friday night to take on the Silvertips at 7:35 at the Comcast Arena.
