Everett AquaSox News Release

On Sunday, July 22nd, the world of Minor League Baseball lost a member of its family. Tulsa Drillers (AA Texas League) hitting coach Mike Coolbaugh was hit in the head by a line drive and lost his life shortly thereafter. In mourning the sudden and tragic loss of a former Major Leaguer and integral part of the Drillers organization, the Everett AquaSox Baseball Club is contributing to the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund.

The fund was founded by Drillers' President Chuck Lamson in conjunction with Spirit Bank, who opened the fund with a $5,000 donation. All proceeds collected will go directly to the Coolbaugh family.

On Monday, August 6th, the AquaSox took on the Tri-City Dust Devils at 7:05 pm. For each full price AquaSox ticket for that night's game purchased online, in person at the AquaSox stadium store, or at the stadium ticket windows, $2 were donated to the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund.

The AquaSox Organization sold a total of 144 full price tickets Monday night earning a total of $288 that will go straight toward the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund. The organization will also donate an extra $212 from its AquaSox Charities Fund to make the full donation $500.
