EVERETT - The AquaSox lost 4-2 in 11 innings to the Tri-City Dust Devils Monday night at Everett Memorial Stadium breaking their seven game winning streak. Both teams scored 2 runs in the 4th inning but the game remained tied until the 11th when Sox reliever Aaron Brown struggled on the mound. Spokane native Darin Holcomb got the final blow for the Dust Devils with a 2 out RBI double to put his team up 4-2. Holcomb leads Tri-City with 15 doubles on the season.
Juan Ramirez had a good outing on the mound starting for the Sox. He struck out 1, allowed 5 hits, 2 runs and 1 walk in 6 innings. Ramirez was second in the Northwest League with 50 strikeouts coming into play Monday night. Reliever Nick Hill was solid with 1 strikeout, 1 hit, 1 walk and no runs in 2 innings.
First basement Kris Sanchez and DH Manelik Pimentel each had multi-hit games for the AquaSox. Pimentel's RBI single in the 4th inning was his 17th of the season putting him 2nd on the team in that category behind only Greg Halman.
The Sox and Tri-City will play for the last time this season on Tuesday with a special 12:05 pm start at Everett Memorial Stadium. Come out to the park for Business Person's Lunch!
