Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

EVERETT - Fans saw a soggy slug-fest Tuesday afternoon at Everett Memorial Stadium as the AquaSox defeated the Dust Devils 8-6 in their final meeting of the season. Luckily, the first 1,000 adults through the gates received an AquaSox Golf Umbrella, as the final game of the five game set was played through intermittent rain. The two teams combined for 28 hits and 16 runners left on base. Jim Davenport, Craig Hurba, Welington Dotel and Kalian Sams all had multi-hit games for the Sox, most notably Davenport who went 4-for-5 and scored 1 run.

Frog starter Rob Harmon threw 5 and 2/3 innings getting 1 strikeout and allowing 9 hits, 4 runs and 1 walk. Harmon struggled at times, but had enough poise to gain the win making his record 2-5.

Tri-City's starting pitcher came out of the game in the first inning with an unidentified injury at which point reliever Austin Chambliss took over and absorbed the bulk of the AquaSox barrage striking out 6 but allowing 9 hits, 6 runs and 1 walk in 5 and 2/3 innings.

The Sox travel to Yakima for a five game series with the Bears before coming back to Everett Memorial Stadium for a short three game set versus the Northwest League-leading Salem Keizer Volcanoes. The homestand begins Monday, August 13th and runs through Wednesday, August 15th.
