Everblades Announce 2018-19 Season-Opening Roster

ESTERO, Fla. - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush, along with Head Coach Brad Ralph, announced today the season-opening roster for the 2018-19 season ahead of Friday night's season opener against the Newfoundland Growlers.

Florida has 20 players on its roster to begin its 21st campaign in the ECHL, including 11 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.

The Everblades return eight players from last year's Brabham Cup Championship team along with defenseman Olivier Dame-Malka, who previously played for Florida from 2012-14.

There are three players under NHL contract on the Blades' season-opening roster, forward Steven Lorentz, defenseman Josh Wesley, and goaltender Jeremy Helvig. Four other players are under AHL contracts, including forwards Zach Nastasiuk and Kyle Platzer, defenseman Patrick McCarron, and goaltender Jamie Phillips.

ECHL teams can carry a maximum of 20 players on the active roster, no more than 18 of whom may be skaters, at any one time. For the first 30 days of the regular season, teams can carry a maximum of 21 players on the active roster, no more than 19 of whom may be skaters, at any one time.

Florida drops the puck on the 2018-19 season on Friday night against the Newfoundland Growlers. Faceoff is slated for 5:30 p.m. ET, and fans can tune into the game on WJBX (101.5 FM, 104.3 FM, 770 AM) and online on Florida begins regular season with matchup against Newfoundland on Friday night.
