
Everblades 11-Game Road Trip Starts With A Bite

The Florida Everblades began their longest road trip in solid fashion with a shutout win in Charlotte last Saturday night. The Blades finished that up with a 3-2 overtime loss to Gwinnett on Sunday afternoon. Florida continues the road trip with three games all in the division. The Everblades travel to Gwinnett for two games on Tuesday and Saturday nights. The first visit to North Charleston Coliseum for Florida will take place on New Year's Eve. The battle will be the fourth in the season series between the Everblades and Stingrays.

GAME NOTES: Last Saturday, the Florida Everblades returned the favor against the Charlotte Checkers on "Teddy Bear Toss Night" in Charlotte. Mike Morrison and Florida blanked Charlotte 3-0 to beat the Checkers for the fourth time this season and second time in three tries in Time Warner Cable Arena. Morrison stopped 28 of 28, while Ross Carlson registered his team-leading 10th goal of the season and Matthew Pistilli accounted for the game winner.
Sunday, December 26 @ Gwinnett The Arena at Gwinnett Center 4:05PM
GAME NOTES: Despite a spirited performance, the Florida Everblades dropped their second decision of the season to Gwinnett 3-2 in overtime. Matt Siddall notched the game winner 1:48 into the extra session. Florida out shot Gwinnett 49-37 in the contest. Siddall and defenseman Aaron Brocklehurst paced the Gladiators each with a goal and an assist.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Gladiators meet for the second time this week. Overall, Gwinnett and Florida will meet 14 times this season, with each team hosting seven contests. Gwinnett hosts the first four games in this series. The two clubs will play in Southwest Florida for the first time on January 22 and 23.
Thursday, December 31 @ South Carolina North Charleston Arena 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The South Carolina Stingrays host the Florida Everblades for the first time this season on New Year's Eve. Florida and South Carolina have battled three times this season in Germain Arena at the end of October. The Stingrays won two of the three contests. All three games were identical 3-2 scores. Brandon Buck got the game winner in the 'Blades lone win against South Carolina.
Saturday, January 2 @ Gwinnett The Arena at Gwinnett Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: This is the final game against a divisional opponent on this road trip. Florida is 0-1-1 in the season series versus the Gladiators. The Everblades have out shot the Gladiators 94-79 in the two contests to date.

Saturday night Mike Morrison recorded his first shutout of the season stopping 28 shots in the 'Blades 3-0 win. Sunday afternoon, Morrison and the Everblades dropped a close 3-2 overtime contest in Gwinnett. Morrison stopped 34 shots in the game.
