Etihad Player of the Month: Santiago Rodríguez Secures October Award

New York City Football Club is delighted to confirm that forward Santiago Rodríguez has been awarded Etihad's Player of the Month for September.

The talented Uruguayan has enjoyed a stellar 2022 campaign with the Boys in Blue, registering four goals and 13 assists in 31 MLS Regular Season outings. Those numbers have Rodríguez leading NYCFC in assists this season, and sixth overall in the league.

That saw him claim the Player of the Month award for September, and he carried that momentum with him into the postseason.

Registering assists in all three of NYCFC's playoff games, it began with a pair of assists against Inter Miami CF, which included a powerful run and pass to Gabriel Pereria alongside a delightful backheel to tee up Maxi Moralez.

He built on that in the Club's next outing against CF Montréal, finding teammate Héber to convert from close range. His final assist came as part of another glittering team move that was finished off by Moralez in Philadelphia.

A worthy winner, the Club would like to congratulate Santi on this achievement.
