Inter Miami CF News Release
MIAMI - Out-of-contract Inter Miami CF attacker Indiana Vassilev was selected by Saint Louis CITY SC in the second round of the 2022 MLS Expansion Draft.
In return, Inter Miami CF has received $50,000 in General Allocation Money, per MLS Expansion Draft rules and procedures available HERE.
Vassilev, 21, joined the Club for a second time on a season-long loan from Aston Villa on May 5, 2022. The versatile attacker registered 25 MLS appearances this season, 13 of them starts, and contributed to two goals and two assists. Notably, on June 25, Vassilev became the first player in MLS history to score both a game-tying and game-winning goal after entering the game in the 80th minute or later, as he netted a brace to earn a 3-2 win over Minnesota United. Vassilev returned to the team after a strong loan stint in 2021, where he appeared in 21 of 23 matches since his arrival.
Inter Miami CF would like to thank Vassilev for his efforts and commitments with the Club and wishes him the best in the future.
