Espinosa in starting lineup for Futures Game

ST. LOUIS, MO- Potomac Nationals shortstop Danny Espinosa's stellar Carolina League season will culminate today in an appearance in the Major League Baseball All-Star Futures Game to kick off All-Star Weekend in St. Louis, Mo. The Futures Game is a Minor-League Baseball fan's dream come true with the top prospects from all teams coming together to play in one venue. The game will pit the best prospects born in the U.S.A against the top players born on foreign soil.

The starting lineups for the game have just been announced and manager Ozzie Smith has penciled Espinosa's name into the starting lineup of the U.S. squad. Espinosa will be playing shortstop and batting ninth.

The Carolina League will be well-represented in the U.S. starting lineup as Pedro Alvarez, formerly of the Lynchburg Hillcats, will be batting fifth, and Jason Heyward, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans star, will be hitting eighth right in front of Espinosa.
