
Esks trade linebacker to 'Cats for draft pick

(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimos announced today that linebacker Jason Lamar and the Esks' second round pick (14th overall) have been traded to Hamilton in exchange for the Tiger-Cats' second round selection (10th overall) in the 2004 CFL Canadian College Draft.
Lamar signed as a free agent with Edmonton on September 15, 2003 and was added to the teams' practice roster. He did not see game action for the Esks last season. In 2001, Lamar spent his rookie season with Hamilton and posted a team high 96 tackles â third best in the CFL and was named a CFL East All-Star. He appeared in five games for the NFL's Houston Texans in 2002.
