March 3, 2005 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club officially announced today that free agent defensive lineman Tim Fleiszer has signed with club. Terms of the deal were not released.
Fleiszer, a 6'3", 266-pound native of Montreal, joins the Eskimos for his eighth CFL season after spending the last two years with the Ottawa Renegades (â03-'04). Originally drafted first overall in the 1998 Canadian College Draft by Hamilton, Fleiszer spent two seasons with the Ti-Cats (1998-'99) before moving to Montréal for three seasons beginning in 2000.
A consistent performer in each of his three previous CFL stops, Fleiszer racked up 28 defensive tackles, 5 tackles for a loss and 4 sacks in 2004.
Fleiszer was a starter during all four seasons he spent at Harvard (1994-â97) and began his career as a fullback. Remarkably, he was the first freshman starter in 121 years of Harvard football. In his senior season, Tim was a first-team All-Ivy League selection and an Academic All-American.
