WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Before a record-crowd of 7,122 fans, Eduardo Escobar hit two of the Dash's five home runs and Winston-Salem blitzed the Lynchburg Hillcats for the second straight night with an 11-4 victory at BB&T Ballpark on Saturday night. The win clinched the series victory, and the Dash will go for the sweep on Sunday afternoon.

Winston (30-13) went ahead quickly in the first inning when Seth Loman went opposite field for a two run home run to left off Lance Janke (1-4) to give the Dash a 2-0 lead.

Early home runs became a theme for the Dash, as Kyle Shelton led off the second inning with a solo shot to left, his second of the season. Two batters later, Justin Greene went yard for his sixth homer to put Winston-Salem ahead 4-0. Later in the inning, Escobar hit a triple to right, scoring Brandon Short to make it 5-0.

The Hillcats (4-1) attempted to make it a game in the third, when Devin Mesoraco blasted his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot to cut the deficit to three.

The Dash shook off Lynchburg's first crack of the scoring column by plating four more runs in the fourth inning off new pitcher Daryl Harang. With one out, Escobar hit his first home run of the season, an opposite field solo shot to right.

Jon Gilmore reached on an error and Loman singled. Two batters later, Jason Bour slammed a two-run double to left field. Shelton finished the inning with an RBI single to the shortstop to put the Dash up 9-2.

In the fifth inning, Escobar slammed his second home run of the night, a two-run shot off the batter's eye in center field. Escobar entered the night with four home runs in 912 career at bats before hitting two straight in the fourth and fifth. He finished the night 4 for 5 and was a double short of the cycle.

Lynchburg scored single runs in the sixth and ninth innings to account for the final margin.

Nate Jones (4-1) pitched 5.1 innings, allowing nine hits and three runs to collect his fourth win. Janke gave up five runs in three innings to suffer the defeat.

Ever Dash player picked up a base hit and all but one of them scored. Seven players had multi-hit games.

The five home runs were a season-high for Winston-Salem. The previous season-high was two homers, which the team had done seven times.

Saturday's crowd of 7,122 was the biggest in the short history of BB&T Ballpark. It topped the opening night crowd of 7,111.

Winston goes for the series sweep on Sunday afternoon. LHP Charlie Leesman (5-1, 4.85) opposes RHP Brad Boxberger (3-3, 3.11) in 2 p.m. start. The webcast pre-game show begins at 1:45 p.m. on www.wsdash.com.
