Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their third consecutive win and a series victory as they take the field against the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) in the third game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the Howlers took down the Phils in a doubleheader sweep. It was Erie's first DH sweep of the season. The 'Wolves shut out the powerful Phillies in the opener behind an L.J. Gagnier complete game. Game two featured late inning heroics of a game-winning, two-run double from Rawley Bishop in his first day back from the disabled list...The SeaWolves have yet to win three straight this season. The 'Wolves have won back-to-back games on four occasions this season...Erie and Reading are the top two scoring teams in the EL...Righty Luke Putkonen takes the mound tonight for the 'Wolves making his third fourth start of the season and first against the R-Phils. Putkonen was roughed up in his last start against Bowie, yielding six runs on six hits in 3.2 innings of work. The SeaWolves are 0-3 in games started by Putkonen...Lefty Ryan Edell takes the mound for the Phillies making his fourth start and second against the 'Wolves. Edell allowed four runs on 10 hits in 5.1 innings of work against Erie in his last start. Edell was originally drafted by the Indians in 2005...The SeaWolves wrap up their current homestand with games tonight and tomorrow morning. Erie will hit the road for seven games before returning next Friday.
