ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it four consecutive wins as they continue a seven-game homestand with the first game of a four-game series against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates). Erie is coming off of a series sweep against the league's top team Akron. Yesterday, the ‘Wolves took down the Aeros 7-2, improving to 5-2 against their rivals. With the win, Erie is now just three games behind the Aeros, in second place in the Southern Division. Erie is two games ahead of third place Reading. The ‘Wolves have the second-best record in the EL at 29-19 and they are the top home club in the league with a 19-7 record at "The Uht" (.730 home winning percentage)... Altoona enters tonight's game having dropped eight of its last 10. The Curve was swept by Trenton in a three-game series over the weekend. Altoona sits in fifth place in the division, 17.5 games out of first...Righty Pat Stanley takes the mound today for the SeaWolves. Stanley made his Erie debut on May 26 at Harrisburg. In the game, he tossed five shutout innings, allowing tow hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Stanley left the game with a lead but the bullpen could not hold on as Harrisburg tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. Erie won the game 6-3 in 10 innings...Righty Brad Lincoln takes the mound for Altoona making his 10th start of the season and fourth against the SeaWolves. In three previous starts against Erie, Lincoln is 0-1 with a pair of no-decisions. He took a no-decision in his last start against Bowie on May 27. In the game, he tossed six shutout innings, allowing four hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Lincoln has not given up a run in his last two starts.

- Erie leads the season series over Altoona 9-2. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 25 times in 2009.

- Erie's pitching staff is sixth in the league with a 3.65 team ERA. Altoona ranks eighth in the league with a 4.18 team ERA.

- Erie is second in the EL with a .275 team batting average. Altoona ranks last in the league with a .232 team batting average.

- The SeaWolves lead the league with 58 home runs and are second with 249 runs scored. Erie has hit 17 more home runs that the next closest team (Harrisburg with 41).

- Scott Sizemore is tied for second in the league with 58 hits and is tied for third with 32 runs scored. He is tied for third in the league, along with teammate Brennan Boesch with nine home runs. Boesch is second in the league with 26 extra-base hits while Sizemore is third with 24.

- Ryan Strieby leads the league with 12 home runs and 37 runs scored while he is tied for third with 37 RBI.

- The ‘Wolves have turned 57 double plays which is third in the EL. Altoona has turned the most double plays in the league (65).

- Erie pitchers have walked the third-fewest batters in the EL (151).

- The SeaWolves have drawn four straight crowds over 4,000 fans. Over the three-game series vs. Akron, 13,490 fans came out to watch Erie pick up the series sweep.
