ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Today, the SeaWolves look for their second straight win as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the second game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. The Howlers snapped a two-game slide with a 6-3 win in the series opener on Friday. The win improved the 'Wolves to 6-2 against the league's top club. Erie has won four straight over Akron and is 4-0 against the Aeros at home...The Howlers enter tonight's game as the top home club in the EL with a 29-15 home record and a .659 home winning percentage. The club has won four of its last five home games. Last night's win improved Erie to 34-34 against the Southern Division...The 'Wolves come into tonight's game 8.5 games behind first place Akron, 3.5 games behind second place Reading and 1.5 games behind third place Bowie...In 2007, the last time Erie won the Southern Division, the 'Wolves had a 48-39 record through 87 games. This year's club is one win behind that pace...Erie is 6-4 in the last 10 games while Akron is 5-5 over its last 10...Ryan Strieby is hitting .359 (14x39) with two home runs and six RBI over his last 10 games...Since returning from Class-A Lakeland, Santo De Leon has played in seven games and his hitting .348 (8x23) with five RBI. De Leon is on a season-long six-game hitting streak...Lefty Jon Kibler looks for his third consecutive win. He is at the .500 mark for the first time this season after back-to-back wins over Trenton and Binghamton. Kibler is 3-1 with a no-decision over his last five starts and Erie is 4-1 during that span...Beginning last night, the SeaWolves are in a stretch of 19 games against two opponents. Erie will face Akron 12 times and Binghamton seven times.
